Mazda CX-70 announced its overseas price, and it was powered by 3.3T

Mazda officially released the CX-70 series in the North American market at the end of January 2024. As the second combat-capable CX-70 with a vertical rear-drive chassis in the North American market, it soon appeared on the sales market. North American Mazda, in late February, announced the complete price setting on its website. The price of the 3.3-liter turbine model entering the car series starts at $40,445 (without tax), while the price of the PHEV model starts at $54,400. According to the US Mazda website, the CX-70 is currently available in a total of two power and seven models.

The more interesting part is that the price of the CX-90 has been announced for sale in February 2023, and from the current North American Mazda website, it can be seen that the price of the CX-90 series starts from $37,845 to $57,450. From the price point of view, the price of the 5-seat CX-70 series is even more expensive than the three-row seat CX-90. Is it just like the price of a two-door sports car is higher than that of a sedan? The fewer doors, the more expensive it is, and the fewer seats, the higher the price!

Of course, the less the door, the more expensive the argument is a joke, and the price setting of the 5-seat CX-70 is higher than that of the 3-row CX-90, which is also a misunderstanding. After careful comparison, it will be found that Mazda in North America has programmed the CX-90 from the entry-level Select model, followed by Preferred, Preferred Plus, Premium, Premium Plus, S, S Premium, S Premium and other models, plus 3.3T and PHEV two power unit options, the CX-90 car series has a total of 11 models.

As for the seven car series of the CX-70, the entry is the Preferred model, and it is not like the CX-90 with the Select model as the entry configuration. The entire product positioning is quite different. After further comparison, it will be found that whether it is the CX-70 or the CX-90, the price setting of the same model is exactly the same. The 3.3 T Preferred model of the CX-70 is priced at $40,445 untaxed, while the 3.3 T Preferred model of the CX-90 is also priced at $40,445 untaxed, and the rest of the models are the same.

In terms of body size, the CX-70 and the CX-90 are actually not far from each other, with a length of about 5,100mm (inclusive). The similar size highlights the difference in the original intention of the product, which also means that the main product differences between the CX-70 and the CX-90 still lie in the differentiation of interior space application and vehicle demand.
